We’re delighted to welcome Prashant Patel (known as Prash) to Optima as a Senior Systems Engineering Consultant.
Prash brings with him a unique background shaped by 7 years of service as a REME Officer in the British Army. Much of his Armed Forces career was spent working alongside the Royal Marines during a period of rapid transformation. From driving the fast procurement of cutting-edge kit — including personal drones, weapon and communications systems — to contributing to strategic-level restructures and doctrine changes, Prash has been at the forefront of modern military innovation. He also gained valuable industry collaboration experience while working on the Watchkeeper TUAS programme.
With a sharp ability to identify root causes and apply systems thinking methodologies, Prash is adept at developing effective solutions and mitigating key issues across complex systems. His problem-solving mindset makes him a fantastic addition to the team.
Beyond his professional expertise, Prash is equally dynamic outside of work. He’s an outdoors enthusiast, regularly taking part in fitness challenges or enjoying a round of golf. When indoors, you’ll find him in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes and serving up culinary masterpieces!
