London, 11 September 2025 — Optima Systems Consultancy has been awarded the Ministry of Defence’s Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Bronze Award in recognition of its commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community and its public pledge to the Armed Forces Covenant.
The ERS recognises employers who pledge to be forces-friendly, including openness to employing reservists, veterans, cadet instructors and military spouses/partners, and alignment with the Armed Forces Covenant’s principle of fair treatment for those who serve or have served.
Today at DSEI (ExCeL London), Tony Blaney, Senior Defence Relationship Manager, Defence Relationship Management (MOD) presented the Bronze certificate to Chris Lamb (MD) and Lloyd Pryce (Director) on the Optima stand (S11-249, Naval Zone).
Chris Lamb, Managing Director, said: “Over a third of our consultants are former service personnel. This award is formal recognition of what we live daily: we value their leadership, rigour and mission focus, and we create an environment where reservists, veterans and military families can thrive.”
Lloyd Pryce, Director, added: “Systems Engineering is a team sport. Forces experience brings decisive thinking under pressure and a bias for delivery. Our commitment under the Armed Forces Covenant strengthens our capability for defence clients and partners.”

The ERS encourages employers to support Defence and inspire others to do the same, with Bronze, Silver and Gold levels recognising increasing commitment to the Armed Forces community.
Next steps
Optima will continue to build practical support for colleagues from the Armed Forces community and work towards Silver recognition in due course.
