Brian Eshelby and Koyal Limbu joins Optima

Starting the year on a good note, we are very proud to welcome Brian Eshelby and Koyal Limbu to our team. Brian joins our team as a Senior Systems Engineer with over 40 years’ experience in the defence sector and Koyal joins us as a Systems Engineering Consultant, bringing systems engineering experience in the defence sector.

Brian served in the Royal Engineers for over 30 years, deploying worldwide including: Germany, Cyprus, Falkland Islands, the Gulf, and the Balkans. For the last 15 years of his service, Brian was a senior analyst working on the Bowman (BCIP) project as part of the Command and Control Development Centre and latterly Army HQ, providing technical subject-matter expert advice to the BATCIS Delivery Team, Service HQs and the joint service end user community, as well as System Engineering support for integration, testing, evaluation and acceptance activities. For this Brian was awarded the MBE (Military Division) in the 2014 NYOL.

On leaving the forces Brian worked for Army HQ, managing a team of developers providing CIS training materials to service colleges and schools across the UK. Brian then worked as a Senior Systems Engineer for several large multinational defence companies where he worked with, and led multi-disciplinary teams delivering solutions for complex UK and NATO defence programmes.

Koyal initially started his career with the MOD on the DE&S graduate scheme where he gained valuable experience working in various stages of the CADMID cycle via secondments into Babcock, NCHQ, DSTL and NDP.

Upon completion of the scheme, Koyal spent the next few years as a Systems Engineer with BAE Submarines where he was the product owner for the Horizontal Multi-Function Console.

He is known for his versatility and quick-thinking which has enabled him to adapt to high pressure environments.

When not solving complex systems challenges you will most likely find Koyal climbing rocks.
