We’re delighted to welcome Kevin Mountford this month.
Kevin joins our team as a Senior Systems Engineer, bringing a wide range of Systems Engineering and consulting experience. He started his career in mechanical engineering, working in manufacturing and quality, but quickly found himself drawn to complex, interconnected problems that demanded broader thinking. After graduating from the University of Bath, he discovered systems engineering and felt an immediate personal and technical affinity with the profession.
Since then, Kevin has worked across rail signalling, aeronautical, and several defence naval engineering projects as a systems engineering consultant. Most notably, he spent two years as Systems Engineering Lead on a multi-billion-pound programme, a core pillar of UK naval defence, guiding it through a major engineering milestone.
Kevin was also among the first to achieve CEng through IfSE (INCOSE UK at the time), and went on to support others with their professional registration as a Professional Registration Advisor. Last year, he was nominated for and admitted into Cohort 11 of the INCOSE Technical Leadership Institute, recognising his potential as a future systems engineering leader.
Outside of work, Kevin plays plenty of squash in the South West leagues and is starting to understand the hype around padel. Less frequent adventures include skiing and scuba diving, which once led him to building and racing human-powered submarines. Above all, he’s up for any activity or meet-up that involves good people.
