Optima welcomes Nick Faucher and Jason Shorto

Optima Systems Consultancy is delighted to welcome Nick Faucher and Jason Shorto to our team.

Nick has recently joined our team as a Systems Engineering Consultant with a wealth of engineering experience across the Defence and Commercial Sectors.

Previously a Chief Weapons Engineer in the Royal Navy, Nick served on T23 frigates where he specialised in RF equipment such as EW and RADAR. He left the Navy in 2019 and started a new path with Amazon as an Engineering Manager and later progressed to become an Engineering Project Manager where he was responsible for the installation of conveyance and robotic equipment within Amazons flagship warehouses.

Having joined the Optima team, Nick now look forward to a new adventure within a company with a great culture.

In his spare time Nick is interested in self-development, fitness and property investing, and he is enjoying his outdoor adventures with his dog, Reggie.

Jason has joined Optima as a Systems Engineering Consultant, bringing with him prior experience from the civil aviation industry. Having embarked on his career with Airbus in 2017, he worked on a variety of landing gear system developments including technical leadership on major projects on the A320 aircraft family. Stints in the fuel system test facility and future concepts for overall aircraft design enhanced his appreciation and skill for systems engineering in the broader sense.

More recently, Jason undertook a role at Vertical Aerospace integrating the landing gear system on their prototype eVTOL aircraft, applying an agile mentality in the rapidly growing electrical aviation space.

Outside of work he can usually be found travelling & gazing at modern architecture, playing the drums, or staying naturally competitive through chasing a ball in a field or court somewhere.
