Sam is an accomplished Senior Systems Engineer and Chartered Engineer (IMechE) with over 15 years of experience across client, design, and systems engineering roles. Holding an MEng in Mechanical Engineering (Product Design), she brings a breadth of expertise and technical rigor to Optima Systems Consultancy. A pragmatic problem solver, she is well regarded for her ability to navigate complex technical landscapes and translate them into structured, actionable requirements.
Before joining Optima in 2021, Sam established a solid engineering foundation by managing subsea system designs in the Oil & Gas sector, overseeing third-party verification for Offshore Wind Farm installations, and driving process improvements for clients to achieve ISO 9001 certification within the IT sector. Since joining Optima, she has contributed to the nuclear domain, most notably the implementation of Systems Engineering for the complex JET Decommissioning and Repurposing (JDR) program. Her work consistently demonstrates a thorough understanding of both the technical and operational dimensions of her projects.
