Optima is delighted to welcome Tom to the team as a Principal Consultant with 15 years experience in the defense sector. He has a background in Electrical and Electronic engineering, working across munitions handing and launch systems, countermeasure deployment and strategic communications.
He moved into Systems Engineering, working across the complete engineering lifecycle across a range of programmes, culminating in leading and managing large multidiscipline engineering teams to deliver complex projects for domestic and overseas customers.
More recently Tom has been establishing and leading Electrical and Electronic, Software and Systems Engineering functions, growing teams, skills and capabilities and driving engineering improvement, whilst also retaining a position as Chief Engineer providing governance and assurance.
In his spare time Tom enjoys trail running (the muddier the better), cycling and generally being outdoors with his family and the dog.
