Optima Systems Consultancy have signed up as a supplier on the STORM (Science & Technology Oriented Research & development in Missile defence) framework, a strategically important £251 million Ministry of Defence contract awarded to Roke as prime contractor.
The six-year framework will enable Optima to contribute its independent Systems Engineering expertise to support the UK Missile Defence Centre (UK MDC) in countering current and future missile threats, including ballistic and hypersonic missiles.
Optima have supported the UK MDC for a number of years, providing independent technical expertise and Systems Engineering. This relationship was formalised in March 2024 when Optima became an official MDC partner company. Through the STORM framework, Optima will now deepen this engagement as part of Roke’s UK sovereign industry collaborative effort across the MDC’s six key themes.
Lloyd Pryce, Managing Director of Optima Systems Consultancy, commented: “We are delighted to be part of the STORM framework alongside Roke and other industry partners. This contract recognises our long-standing relationship with the UK MDC and our commitment to supporting the development of next-generation missile defence capabilities. Our track record of providing independent Systems Engineering advice positions us well to support the MDC’s mission-critical work, and we look forward to contributing to this vital national security capability.”
