Optima is delighted to welcome Yameen to the team as a Systems Engineering Consultant from Rolls-Royce, gaining good systems experience in the Service sector of the lifecycle in both defence aero & naval engine projects with a focus on making modifications to systems in response to safety concerns. He prides himself on being able to take the initiative to solve problems and never be afraid to throw any ideas on the table, appreciating that no one knows the answer straight away in systems and that working hard as a team is what gets things done.
While still early in his engineering career, he relishes the opportunity to really grow at Optima and take in all that consultancy has to offer. Being a quick, intuitive, and active learner, he has no doubt in doing so.
Outside of work Yameen had been playing rugby since his early teens up until the end of his university studies, but now finds joy in trying new things since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, these include tennis (only played twice), sim racing (rubbish), golf (even worse); he is starting his journey of learning Italian to broaden his skills further but mainly it’s just to show off.
